Inspire Students to Pursue a STEM Career Using NASA Missions
Ignite a Passion for STEM with NASA!
The Northwest Earth and Space Sciences Pathways (NESSP)
is a NASA-funded program that brings exciting STEM learning opportunities to the Pacific Northwest. We connect K-12 students and teachers with real-world NASA missions and experts, sparking curiosity and igniting a passion for science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).
Empowering Educators!
Professional Development Workshops: NESSP offers training programs for educators, equipping them with the tools and resources to integrate engaging NASA-themed curriculum into their classrooms and after-school programs. Over 450 teachers have already participated in these workshops!
Engaging Student Challenges!
Annual NASA-Themed Challenges: NESSP's annual student challenges take STEM learning to a whole new level! Every year, students tackle a real-world scientific problem based on a current or past NASA mission. Working in teams, students will apply their critical thinking and collaboration skills to solve the challenge using a curriculum aligned with Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). These challenges culminate in regional events where students showcase their work and compete for the chance to visit a NASA center!
Student Challenges that Go Beyond the Textbook!
National Competition and Recognition: NESSP student challenges are open to teams across the United States. Top teams from each state even win funding to visit NASA centers!
Join the NESSP Community!
The Northwest Earth and Space Sciences Pathways (NESSP) project is a NASA funded regional program that gives the Pacific Northwest a NASA educational presence. NESSP programming provides NASA-focused outreach, professional development, Summer camps, and national challenges to underrepresented communities by connecting them
with NASA scientists and experts.
