Born from a collaborative vision between the Clackamas Education Service District (CESD) and the South Metro-Salem STEM Partnership (SMSP), this groundbreaking initiative is transforming how students engage with critical 21st-century skills.

The journey began in 2023 when a diverse group of educators helped shape the library's priorities. Thanks to the GEER Computer Science Grant, foundational equipment like BeeBots, Makey Makey kits, Indi Cars, and Sphero BOLT robots were acquired, paving the way for exciting classroom innovations.

While the project took a brief pause, it roared back to life in the 2024–25 school year with renewed vigor. The STEAM Lending Library Leadership Team meticulously tested lesson plans and delivery systems, ensuring a seamless experience for educators. Now, with an upgraded MyTurn lending platform, expanded storage, and a convenient delivery system integrated with the CESD Courier, getting these valuable resources into classrooms is easier than ever.

To further support educators, the CESD STEAM Lending Library Website offers a wealth of resources, including how-to videos, ready-to-use lesson plans, and practical classroom tips. This ensures that teachers have everything they need to successfully implement borrowed items and create engaging, hands-on learning experiences.

The CESD STEAM Lending Library is more than just a collection of tools; it's a commitment to fostering innovation and empowering the next generation of thinkers, creators, and problem-solvers.
